A Hamilton Crash At The Brazilian Grand Prix?

Will Rubens Barrichello give Lewis Hamilton a bump at the Brazilian Grand Prix?

The Brazilian Grand Prix is coming up this Sunday. It’ll be the final, deciding race in what has been a tight season. As you may or may not know, Felipe Massa was born in São Paulo, Brazil, so this will be a hometown race for him since it’s being held at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo. And the fact that he’s just trailing behind Lewis Hamilton and has a chance to win it makes it all the more exciting for him and for the Brazilians watching.

The thing is, Hamilton has a pretty substantial points lead, so for Massa to be assured a win, Hamilton pretty much has to leave the race early. Because of that possibility, the people over at the Brazilian humor blog, Buzz have started the “Bate Nele, Rubinho” campaign. Roughly it translates to “Hit Him, Rubino“. Yeah, it means exactly what you think it means… they’re (hopefully in jest) trying to goad the other Brazilian driver, Rubens Barrichello (they call him “Little Rubens”, or Rubino) to actually hit Lewis Hamilton and cause a crash so that Massa can win the race.

Check out their logo and everything:

On their website, they posted a video of this crash:

and said:

Dear Rubinho,

What we’re asking you to do is pretty simple. Nothing complicated. Just repeat what happens in that video to Hamilton’s car.

Honestly, I think it’s pretty despicable, even if they’re doing it as a joke. Too many Formula 1 drivers have been injured and killed to take something like that so lightly.

So Buzz… Você está Lame

And thanks for the tip, Daniel!
