2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ: RideLust Review

Looks way better than the MonoCraft MH1!
You’re not looking at some sort of pint-sized Porsche 550 replica, although the resemblance is a nice bonus (although it is speculated to be on a Porsche 914 platform). This is, in fact, an all-electric roadster from the Swiss company BRUSA Elektronik. And they want to take your money and give you a 270 HP equivalent, 2000 lb. roadster in return. 1.21 gigiwatts!!!
Two 100 kW motors provide 324 ft-lbs of torque. At 0 RPM. That’s the nice thing about electric cars – all the torque, all the time. No waiting. We at RideLust like instant gratification. Speaking of quick gratification, the Spyder here can hit 100 kM/H (62 MPH) in less than 5 seconds. In case you want to get to the other side of the alpine valley to hear your yodeling before it reaches the other side.

Looks good with the top down.
A 16 kW-hour lithium polymer battery is good for around 100 kM, which is probably enough for a trackday but won’t work for the Gumball 3000. It’ll recharge in 4 hours with a 220V adapter. Of course, as with all electrics, your mileage will vary. If they can bring this thing in at a reasonable price, this could be a cool auto-cross platform.
