2012 Nissan Rogue SV FWD: RideLust Review
BMW is instructing dealers to stop deliveries of 1 Series models built between January and May of this year, and it looks like they will be issuing a recall for certain 2008 to 2011 1 Series models. At issue is insufficient clearance between the seat belt tensioners and the insulation material in the B pillar. Under specific post-crash circumstances, the insulation material could catch fire.
The fix is simple enough: trim back the insulating material to ensure proper clearance, and this is what BMW dealers will d free of charge once the recall becomes official. Owners with questions or concerns can contact BMW’s customer service hotline at (800) 525-7417.
