Ridelust Review: 2013 BMW X6 M
The first race of the Grand-Am roadracing series kicks off next week with the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Pacing this years field will be a BMW 1 Series M, alongside it’s bigger brother, the M3. Per Dan Creed, BMW North America’s VP of Marketing, “There’s no better way to greet your most enthusiastic fans than from the front of the Rolex 24 field. BMW M is synonymous with motorsport. With six BMW-powered entries in this year’s field and on the 35th anniversary of our overall win, it’s perfect that the new 1 Series M Coupe was chosen as pace car. This will be the first time most fans are able to see our newest M car in action.”
The 1 Series M pace car is completely stock, with no modifications to enhance performance or handling. It will be equipped with an on-board camera to enhance SPEED television’s coverage of the event, and will undoubtedly get strobe lights that don’t come from the BMW parts catalog. SPEED’s coverage of the Rolex 24 at Daytona kicks off on Saturday, January 29 at 3:00 PM and picks up again on Sunday, January 30 at 9:00 for the finish.

I’m digging the Alpine white with the classic M colors, but Dr. Kay Segler was really hyping the Valencia Orange on his walk-through of the car.
