Beck 904: The Penultimate Kit Car

Posted in Corner Carvers, Custom, Porsche, Videos by Dustin Driver | June 20th, 2010 | 1 Response |

The Porsche 904 (Carrera GTS in street form) is arguably the most beautiful car to come out of Stuttgart. Unfortunately, Porsche only made 106 of them for homologation. That makes them some of the most sought-after and expensive cars on the planet. Fortunately, Chuck Beck is havin’ none of that. Beck is known for building beautiful Porsche 550 Spyder replicas and for the past five years or so, he has built the Beck904. The kit car has a tube frame and fiberglass body. When equipped with a 250-horsepower air-cooled 3.2-liter flat six, and can hit 60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds. Like the original 904, it is a monster on the track. The Beck 904 comes as a rolling chassis ready to accept an air-cooled 911 engine. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.

OK, sign me up. Better looking than a 550 Spyder, faster than a 550 Spyder and easier to get approves for track days.
