Well it’s that time of year again, time to get ready for another edition of the One Lap of America. This will be my third consecutive running of the event and there’s no question that it gets better and better every year. The One Lap is not for the faint of heart. In fact it’s one of the toughest open road events you can do. The event consists of running 8-9 race tracks over an 8-day period while at the same time covering around 3,500 miles. You’re at the track at 7am, racing until 2pm-3pm in the afternoon and then jumping back in the car (barring you don’t wreck) and then hitting the road for a quaint 300-600 mile drive to the next track. Sleeping is not really an option as you’ll only get about 2-3 hrs per night and eating, well, that’s secondary as well. The menu in our car usually consists of powdered donuts, red bull, beef jerky, granola bars, water and a shitload of 5-hour energy (trucker crack).
