Aston Martin’s new baby has been named as One-77 and this new model is clearly intended for the very rich. That’s right: the price of this high-performance car is going to be about $1.8 million which just happens to be the same price range as the Bugatti Veyron.

But a good guess is that they will up that price for the prestige of being the world’s most expensive car. For that kind of cash the new One-77 will incorporate the most powerful engine introduced so far by the British firm.

The new model Aston Martin proves that the current credit crisis and fuel prices does not affect the luxury market. Everything indicates that the promotion of the new model Aston Martin will take place in little drops. So far, there is only one photo for potential buyers to take a look at and the British firm has unveiled only a couple of details of the sports cars specifications.

Although the company has opted for a website just for this vehicle One-77.com, but that consists of only the company logo and a couple of details flashed up on the screen, nothing else.

Therefore, the only thing we can know in advance so far is that the One-77 Aston Martin is a special series consists of only 77 units. The other details of the model are that it is made up of aluminum body panels and a chassis of carbon fibre.

Finally, the heart of Aston Martin One-77 will be a new generation engine with cylinder capacity of seven liters and 12 cylinders in the V formation. This would mean that it would exceed the 550 hp engine, which will make it the most powerful Aston Martin in history.

With this powerful sports, the mechanics reached a speed of 217mph and mean that it accelerates from 0 to 60mph in about three seconds. This would be a slower take off speed and a lot lower top speed than the Veyron with which presumably it would be competing, but they may yet have some trick up their sleeve to improve on those figures.

The new One-77 would become the first model built by the British firm, after the Ford group in 2007 sold this company to a consortium led by Prodrive.

I happened upon some facts and figures for Motor company advertising for 2006, for that year in the US alone manufacturers spent $6.7billion and that was only up until June. For that same period Toyota spent $651 million on break dancing transformer cars, and sexy models draped over some of their budget vehicles that were no where near as attractive as the models.

And that reminded me of an advertisement for Toyota that no overpaid Madison Avenue Ad exec would ever have thought of, and has possibly been responsible for more Toyota truck sales than any multi million dollar ad campaigns the company ever signed up for.

UK motoring TV show Top Gear was well aware of Toyota’s reputation for having one of the roughest, toughest, never let you down trucks on the planet. The choice for Arctic explorers, African malisha army’s and the Afghan rebels, a poor army’s version of a Sherman Tank, the Toyota Truck.

So they came up with a simple idea, let’s try to destroy a Toyota truck and see what kind of punishment it can take and still start up and move. So that is exactly what they did, they set out to Kill A Toyota Truck.

The rules were simple no spare parts and only basic tools to be used for short period on site, with no second chances.

So the Toyota has proved its tough, it can withstand all kinds of outrageous punishment like being driven into walls, smashed head-on into tree’s, being driven down stone steps, having a trailer dropped on it, being smashed with a giant wrecking ball and even being left out in the North Sea for a few hours and then finally having gas poured all over it and set on fire.

The Mastretta MXT which has been developed by industrial design firm Tecnoidea, is a sporty two-seater coupé with an outside line inspired by rally race cars. It is twelve feet long, and five feet wide and less than four feet high.

This car, which is the mid-engine vehicle, has the advantage of putting 56% of its weight on the rear axle and just 44% in the front, thus achieving optimal levels of acceleration and braking. The gasoline engine is a 4-cylinder in-line, 240 bhp that has 16 valves and a turbocharger. The engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission.

With only a fraction short of 2000lb in weight the engine can easily push the MXT up to a maximum speed of 149 mph, this coupé is the first high-performance sports designed and manufactured in Mexico.

The Mastretta MXT, which was presented at the Motor Show in London, has been designed taking into account existing legislation in the European Union for limited production vehicles, as this model is not intended to be manufactured on a large scale.

The MXT has a package of compact aerodynamic shapes, with a light chassis weight and reduced obstructions to the flow of air, which distributes airflow in a strategic way to aid with cutting through the air to increase speed and reduce fuel consumption.

The structure is made up of specially designed aluminium extrusions a first for this project. And utilizes some of the lightweight elements found in aluminum foil, which is combined with plastics to produce a lightweight but strong composite for the flooring panels.

The interior features an ergonomic and sporty design, has a cabin that is low but wide, with a high dashboard set-up and low nose, giving it a modern and surprisingly spacious interior

The MXT enjoys an advanced electronic management, which includes an instrument panel with the options of either RoadMode or RaceMode. In addition, this coupé has a stereo MP3 player, enveloping seating, air conditioning and heating, and a Hella lighting system.

The company intends to produce this sporting two-seater with a limit of just 80 cars in the first year, starting in January 2009.

For those who thought that with 1,001 horsepower the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 was already the best there is in mass-produced automobiles, the Veyron 16.4 is now available as a roadster.

On 17 August, which is the opening day of the vintage meeting at Pebble Beach, California, the VW subsidiary Bugatti will unleash another car to get any guy’s motoring juices going, the Grand Sport Veyron 16.4.

The fewer than 150 prestigious owners of the original sports flying machine are about to be upstaged by the new topless version. The new removable roof version will utilize what the company calls “innovative structural solutions” that will allow for increased wind cutting aerodynamics and added safety with hidden reinforcement to make up for the lack of roof structure.

They claim that these new atmosphere cutting features will mean that the occupants will be able to experience wind in the hair motoring without being blown out of their seats at the supercars 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds takeoff, or its top speed over 250 mph.

The rumor in the auto industry news is that there will only be 80 lucky owners of the new version. There will be a price increase also on the $18 million for the “standard” Bugatti Veyron. If you need to ask the price you can’t afford it anyway, but probably everyone reading this can’t afford its $2.25 million price tag.

The point of the August 17 meeting at Pebble Beach is to allow the mega-rich to participate in an auction to fight for the bragging rights to be the owner of the very first Grand Sport Veyron to roll out of the factory in 2010.

The auction is apparently a straight forward highest bid gets the first car, so you can expect playboys and Arab Sheiks to be lining up to pay perhaps millions more for the honor of owning the very first Grand Sport Veyron 16.4.

The Bond movies have always had three or four staple ingredients that James simply can not operate without, exotic locations, weird and wonderful gadgets, at least a couple of half naked girls, and the cars.

Each of the Bond’s has been linked in the mind of fans with one dream car, even if they drove several different vehicles during their reign as Bond. Here is a list of all of the movies and Mr Bond’s memorable transportation in each movie.

These are only the “official” Bond movies that were put out by the late “Cubby” Broccoli’s EON productions. So movies like David Nivens Casino Royale are not included.

First up is Dr No 1962, and for his first outing as Bond Sean Connery was given a Sunbeam Alpine which apparently was author Ian Fleming’s favourite car.

Next was From Russia With Love (1963) in which Bond drives a Derby Bentley convertible, but perhaps more interestingly for 1963, not only uses a pager but also a car phone.

Goldfinger followed in 1964 and Thunderball in 1965. Most guys over 40 can stop reading here because for that generation there is only one Bond and there is only one Bond car the Aston Martin DB5 fitted with all those boyhood dream gadgets, the radar, the essential rear bulletproof shield, the matching machine guns and of course the ejector seat.

1967 brought us You Only Live Twice and the Toyota 2000 GT

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969 gave us a new Bond in the shape of George Lazenby and at least the return of an Aston Martin with the DBS V8. 5340cc fuel injected V8 version.

Diamonds Are Forever was next in 1971 and the return of Connery after (luckily for the 007 franchise) Batman, Adam West turned down the role. The car used by Bond was Ford Galaxie, but no one remembers that. The car that is remembered is the Ford Mustang Mach 1 that 007 drives on two wheels.

Live and Let Die 1973 and a Chevy Impala was the first, and beat up old car, for Roger Moore. This was the first time when a car had not been a main feature of a Bond movie. But it did have one great scene involving a speedboat and a car.

The Man with the Golden Gun 1974 and who can forget the AMC Hornet hatchback special perform a spectacular spiral jump across a river.

The Spy Who Loved Me 1977 and a car takes a leading role again with the Lotus Esprit that not only had gadgets but could travel under water.

Parking in London, or any of the world’s great cities, can be a nightmare - there is always one more car than there are spaces.

With space at such a premium, some parking garages, such as the one at the famous department store Harrod’s, have hydraulic ramps installed so that cars can be stacked on top of each other.

If only cars just weren’t so big. If they were half the size they are now, we could fit twice as many vehicles into the same amount of space. Or, we could come up with a radical design like 22-year-old Daniel Bailey did with his sleek new concept car he has crowned the BRB Evolution.

The idea is simple: if you could fold up a car just like a foldaway bike, it would halve the amount of space needed to park it. And that’s what this new “Transformer”-like car will be able to do. Not only that – but it doesn’t look like a geek/techie vehicle either.

Featuring inspiration from the Lamborghini Murcielago mixed in with a little Peugeot 908, the BRB Evolution produces sleek sports car lines like something straight out of Blade Runner.

BRB Evolution’s creator, Daniel, drew his inspiration from his native London and it’s two biggest problems:  lack of parking and pollution. His solution was simple: a fold away electric vehicle that didn’t pollute the planet and could be parked in a tiny parking space.

His concept is a very sporty looking two-seater that is low to the ground and that can even be parked facing the sidewalk in between two other normally parked cars.

The occupants get out of the car; the driver presses a button on his key ring and the doors lock. Then two small rollers would drop down below the rear of the vehicle these would then move forward folding the car in half on a hinge mechanism. The car folds forwards and upwards until it reaches about half its original length, it will then turn the car and it will then slide into a small parking space sideways.

Daniel is currently a student at Montclair State University in New Jersey studying industrial design, and is currently working on whether to opt for electricity or hydrogen fuel cell to power his Transformer vehicle.

It would be every 12 year old pubescent boys dream come true, a flat out drag race between the world’s fastest production sports car and a state of the art military jet fighter. Well maybe it’s every pubescent 45 year old boys dream come true as well.

The British TV show Top Gear decided to put the Bugatti Veyron into the ultimate test of supercar power. It had been raced before against the Mclaren SLR, the Yamaha R1 and the Audi R8, but this is the real test against a 27,000 bhp killing machine.

The fighter chosen was the RAF’s Eurofighter Typhoon, a twin-engine canard-delta strike fighter multi-role combat aircraft that has proved it’s self by scrambling to intercept a Russian Tupolev Tu-95 invading British airspace.

It seems like a no-brainer the incredible thrust of the massive twin engines should leave the Bugatti Veyron looking up its after-burner. But there’s a catch, the race is flat out down a runway for one mile. But at the end the car must pull a u-turn and race back to the starting line … and so does the jet.

The Bugatti Veyron is well equipped with a W-16 engine that’s two V6’s nailed together with 16-cylinders that can put out an astonishing 1001 bhp and propel the car at jet like speed for 0 to100mph in just 5.6 seconds, 0 to 60 takes just 2.4 cheek crushing seconds.

TopGear presenter Richard Hammond must race the mile down the runway as fast as he can, then make a “legal” u-turn without running off the end, and race back. The jet pilot has to pull the fighter straight up at the end of the runway climb as rapidly as he can to his turning height of one mile then slam the plane back towards the ground and level out to cover the length of the runway back to the starting line.
