We knew it was coming. We’ve seen the spy shots, the rendered speculation. Well here it is – the droptop version of Audi’s red hot R8 sportscar. And it works, even in this series of leaked images of the car in “baby poop brown” – the color sucks and the car’s amazing lines still work well. The R8 made the leap from hardtop to cabriolet with none of the fusiness of other such transitions, and these photos, despite their over-eager retouching, clearly demonstrate that. Of course, the R8 Spider officially debuts next week at Frankfurt, so we’ll likely have a veritable avalanche of glossy glamor shots to share with you then. Until then, the gallery below.
