Are You Fearless Enough To Ride A V8 Skateboard?
Tony Hawk will be in Australia for the Telstra 500 in early December. What better way to impress the king of skateboarding than with a V8 powered skateboard, built by V8 Supercars? I’m all for the idea, but I damn near killed myself on a human powered skateboard, and I have a hard and fast rule about not driving anything without a seat and a steering wheel.
Sadly, there’s no actual footage of the “human crash test dummy” riding the board at speed, but I loved his comment that, “apparently our insurance covers all this”. Sure, as long as they don’t know you’re actually riding the thing. There’s no word on how much horsepower the engine puts out, but I’m overstating the obvious when I say, “more than enough.”
I’ll post the follow up video of Tony Hawk riding the board (assuming he’s crazy enough to do so) sometime next week. I’m pretty sure his insurance won’t cover the riding of V8 skateboards, but I doubt that’ll stop him.
