‘65 Shelby Daytona Coupe – No Sale at $6.8M
Apparently Shelby aficionados are tightening their ample belts in this economy, leaving this rare ‘65 Shelby Daytona Coupe stranded on Mecum’s auction floor. A no-sale at $6.8 million having failed to reach the reserve, CSX2601 will likely get another go sometime soon.
CSX2601, like all other Daytona Coupes, had some real racing experience with Bon Bondurant behind the wheel for most of its outings. He later bought the car after it starred in the film Redline 7000.
The famous Peter Brock lines have aged well, from the Kammback tail to the glassed-in lights. Maybe Leno’s in the market for another car?
