Nissan SUV Hoonage in Saudi Arabia.

Aside from being completely dangerous and irresponsible, I’ve got to be honest here and say that this Dude is pretty damn good at slinging this Nissan Patrol SUV around. I’m not sure how I feel about these antics being performed in the midst of a crowded street where people can be flattened at a moments notice, but hey, that’s a risk that the pedestrians seemed to be willing to take. My question though is, what the hell are these SUV’s powered by as there are videos all of over the net of these Patrols participating in all sorts of hoonage. If anyone’s got some insight into these bad boy 4X4’s let me know. By the way… I’m totally diggin’ the music.

    Hey Kurt, here’s some info from a little searching;
    2010 Model: “The car will reportedly be stepping up its game to compete with the Toyota Land Cruiser, which includes offering a petrol V8 engine as well as a 3.0L V6 diesel engine, developed jointly with Renault. The 3.0L longitudinally-mounted diesel engine is expected to have around 265hp and 405lb.-ft of torque.”

    2011 Model: “The latest generation Patrol is built on a new platform and is offered with a new and more powerful 5.6-litre V8 engine that replaces the previous model’s 4.8-liter V8. Featuring direct injection technology, the new V8 produces 400hp and 550Nm of torque.”

    “The 5.6-liter V8 engine is linked to a new 7-speed automatic transmission and an upgraded 4WD system that incorporates a variable 4×4 mode package allowing the driver to quickly switch between four drive modes: sand, on-road, snow and rock.”

    Hello guys…

    Sounds like the Patrol is a ride that would do well here in the States… any ideas on why it’s not here yet?

  5. Dave says:

    MrAngry, apparently the Nissan Patrol is essentially the Infiniti QX SUV for us Staters.

    ” If you take a moment to look at these spy pictures of the next-generation Nissan Patrol, also known in some markets as the Safari, you’ll discover that, besides the unique front and rear-end designs along with the slightly different wheel arches, the two vehicles are practically one and the same.”

    the current QX56 was based on the Armada, not the patrol
    however the nex patrol is said to share the platform
