ProCharger 2011 Mustang

Everyone who has ever driven the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 has come away with nothing but rave reviews. Hell, Kurt just posted his full review of the Mustang GT press car that he had last week and he actually said he’d buy one (that’s HUGE btw). The new Mustang when properly equipped with the new 412 hp 5.0 V8, Brembo brakes and GT Premium Package simply puts both the Camaro SS and Dodge Challenger SRT8 to shame, and by doing so it gives more hard core sports car buyers a very interesting option. You see not only does the new Mustang GT go like stink, but it flat out handles like a rock star and stops like you’ve got a parachute behind you. However, if you’re one of those people for which the stock 412 hp is not enough then fear not because ProCharger has just released a kit that promises 600 hp in just 4 hours.

From the ProCharger website:

“ProCharger and Mustang go hand-in-hand,” Jeff Lacina of ProCharger remarked. “We started in late 1993 during the height of the 5.0 craze. A key to modern supercharging is fuel injection. The Mustang was the modern performance vehicle at the time, the compression ratio was ideal for forced induction, and the rest was history from a ProCharger standpoint.”

ProCharger states that absolutely no cutting and or modifying of the engine compartment takes place during the install process and that with the right tools and skill the install should take about 4 hours. When all was said and done ProCharger’s new kit made an astonishing 165 additional horsepower from 7 pounds of boost. As of yet pricing on the new system has not been released, but rest assured that when it comes to market that these things will be flying off the shelves.

Where the fuck does it say 600 HP? They got 523 on 7 pounds of boost. Am I missing something?

According to the ProCharger website it adds 165+ HP which added to the original 412 HP is 577+ HP which is about 600 HP. The only other HP figure on their website is 510+ WHP which is after all the loses in the drivetrain.

P.S. The language in not necessary.

Ride lust……its called marketing….but who can give me some torque numbers….and at what RPM’s….I guess they assume… we are all dumb shits….well most of do our homework before we buy a product….what a concept!!!

ProCharger ran two dyno runs on two different Mustangs. The first produced 420.0 ft lb @ 4,277 RPM, and the second produced 423 ft lb @ 5,322 RPM. ProCharger does indeed claim 600 horsepower on their website, but they don’t tell you how to get there. My guess would be custom tuning and more than 9 psi of boost (certainly not the 7 psi of the stock system).

I apologize, mom. Anyways, this place used to be decent and create some original content. Nowadays it’s just blogspam, regurgitating bullshit without any research.
