LeftLaneNews.com is reporting that these are in fact spy photo’s of the new 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Yesterday we told you guys that just about every Chrysler fan out there was sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to see how much power the new 6.4L HEMI’s were going to put out. 480 hp is the number that everyone seems to be flashing around but that has yet to be confirmed. Either way though it’s great to see that Chrysler has decided to give the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee the SRT8 treatment.
From the photo’s you can make out some very noticeable differences from the outgoing model. The first and most obvious one being that the new 2012 Jeep Cherokee SRT8 has a tow hitch. When the SRT8 Jeeps first came out that was one of the major complaints about the vehicle. Now I don’t think that anyone expects SRT8 owners to be towing car trailers with this thing, but with all that power and torque it would be nice to be able to hitch up the jet skies or perhaps tow a small motorcycle trailer. Jeep has taken the liberty of moving the exhaust tips out to the edges of the rear bumper and although not as aggressive as the current Jeep it still fits the bill quite nicely. Not to much can be said about the front fascia as they have some pretty good camouflage going on. In all honesty I’m just curious to see if Jeep is going to utilize their new air suspension in the new SRT8.
