I agree with you on the seats, and never did get to like the bright red color. The black seats may be drab, but I’ll take that over in-your-face red any day of the week.

The SRT8 only has a 5 speed transmission, which Chrysler will hopefully remedy next year with the 8 speed available to V6 models.

The red seats look a little garish at first glance, but I think they would grow on you after a while. It breaks up what would otherwise be a sea of black inside the car. My G8 GT has black seats with red inserts, maybe a compromise like that would have worked here.

But at the end of the day, a badass car. For those of us with families and car seats to worry about, there aren’t many fun, relatively affordable choices to consider.

@Willhelm, if you’re a sports car guy, a muscle sedan is a bit of a stretch. Their entertainment value comes from the fact that nothing with this much mass should be quick and (relatively) nimble, and they absolutely rule for long-distance, high-speed road trips.

@PFULMTL, I agree on the red seats and wasn’t crazy about the rims, either. The good news is that both can be easily corrected.

@T, it wasn’t other $50k cars I was benchmarking it against. Think “next price tier” and you get the idea.

Besides, remember what Chysler’s build quality was like around five years back. Comparing it to cars costing half as much back then would have been a stretch.

This is a fifty thousand dollar car! You’d think this wouldn’t come as a shock…

Looks good, besides the rims. Probably some sway/strut bars would help it turn a little sharper. Not digging the all red sets either. But overall, a badass car.
