When the new Camaro was released at the end of 2009 it drew praise from styling committees the world over. Its low slung roof line, wide haunches and muscular stance was reminiscent of the first generation of Camaro’s from the late 1960’s and because of this, muscle car lovers finally had something to rejoice about. Since its release though there have been two big questions on everyone’s minds. First was will there be a Z28 version and second was, is Chevrolet going to make a convertible. Thankfully the answer to both is a resounding yes!
The Z28 version of this bad boy will hopefully be released by mid-year 2011 and according to MotorAuthority.com, the convertible is set to arrive by early March. The Camaro’s main competitor is, was, and always will be the Ford Mustang, a model for which there is already a convertible. This means Chevy is wasting no time trying to bring the new version of their pony car to market. The drop-top Camaro is a sexy car, so sexy in fact that it wouldn’t surprise me if its sales immediately eclipsed those of its main rival, the Mustang.
