2011 Ford Fiesta

I was impressed with the 2011 Ford Fiesta the very first time I drove one, and I can’t wait to get a press fleet Fiesta for evaluation. In case you wanted more than just my thumbs up on the 2011 Fiesta, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has just awarded the Fiesta its “Top Safety Pick” award. The Fiesta becomes the first minicar to earn the coveted award, which requires superior performance in frontal crash testing, side impact crash testing and rollover testing. Cars earning the “Top Safety Pick” award must have electronic stability control as a standard feature.

Left Lane News points out that only Fiesta models built after July 2010 earn the “Top Safety Pick” award, as earlier models used a slightly different door handle design. After initial delays in production and distribution, Ford dealers should now be getting regular deliveries of Fiestas. If you haven’t checked one out yet, you should – it’s surprising how much content Ford has included for the price point.
