At the 2009 North American International Auto Show next month, tiny little Korean outfit Kia Motors is planning on Soul redux in the form of the 2010 Kia Soul Concept vehicle. Aside from the ubiquitous vague teaser image above that was released today, details on the upcoming Soul concept vehicle are scarce. We have heard, however, that the 2010 Soul is expected to lose two doors and becoming a budget competitor for the popular MINI Cooper. As we mentioned before, little is known about Kia’s intentions for the 2010 Soul Concept, but this an auto blog and thus it is our duty to offer our biased, unsolicited (satirical) opinion on the matter which will later be misconstrued as fact by illiterate bands of roving commenters (the 2 regular RideLust readers notwithstanding, of course).
So: contrary to beliefs held by many industry insiders, RideLust suspects that the 2010 Kia Soul Concept will not be a budget, fuel-efficient mini compact, but rather the ultimate sleeper. Miraculously bending the laws of physics, the Kia Soul Concept’s 161.6″ x 100.4″ x 63.4″ body will be equipped with Audi’s RS8 5.2L V10 FSI engine and be capable of producing 525 horsepower at 8,000 rpm as well as 390 pound-feet of torque at 6,500 rpm.
