Photo of the 2010 Ford Focus RS painted I-Just-Lapped-Your-Ass blue have recently hit the auto blog circuit and, slowly but surely, are causing all of us to regret the flak we’ve given the fruity Ford Focus. Although we have to wait until December 12th for Ford to pony up the official specs, rumors indicate that the ‘10 Focus RS manages to rocket from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds – which is pretty damn impressive by itself, but even all the more amazing considered it does so using a 296-bph 5-banger. So what’s the catch? The 2010 Ford Focus RS is initially slated for European production only, which means the North American Focus will still be the same little raisin in the sun (Langston Hughes reference, FTW!) it always has been. Fortunately, Ford’s global product condensing eventually calls for the Focus RS to hop the pond, but we’re not sure when. Best case scenario, we’ll see the RS in 2010 (as a 2011 model), but if the U.S. government continues farting and ordering Detroit to smell it, Ford might punish us and decided to withhold the RS from our restless lead feet until 2015.
