The 1 series was always meant to be a small practical car to be used for every day driving. To make a sport edition of it woudl be like making steak into a dessert. It defies the original point IMO. In any case, in my mind, the title M1 is reserved for the supercar and I really hope bmw goes through with it. I think the “1-series M edition” would be a terrible idea.
