I live and work in Germany, and I also happen to work all of the US Air Force vehicles in Europe too. The clean diesel engines are fabulous, and if there was a fleet of them to buy I would convert every vehicle I could. Over 60% of cars sold in Europe are diesel, and it is by far the cheapest way to gain mileage for a fleet of vehicles. Far cheaper than hybrid vehicles in investment and repair. I can only hope America comes around soon enough. The tax dollars I could save in purchase price, maintenance, and fuel used would literally number in the millions!
Also, the Audi A5 powered by the 3.0 TDI is very fast and fun to drive. Except for the label diesel, I would never know the difference. Better yet I have been smoking Audi S5s off the line. With a 6 speed manual I can get 40 driving 75mph.

Let’s hope for the best soon!
