2009 Chevy Impala Recalled Over Faulty Airbags
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall for 79 2009 Chevy Impalas due to a potentially deadly defect in the passenger side airbag. Apparently, within the airbags in question, there is a faulty inflation tube that could fracture during deployment. If this occurs, not only do the pieces become projectile missiles, but they also could prevent the airbag from inflating.
Once the recall becomes affective in mid-October, Chevy will begin to rectify the problem by replacing the passenger side airbags in all the affected units.
