Do you own a Jeep Wrangler built between May 15, 2006 and today? Roughly 289,000 people do, and Chrysler will be sending out recall notices shortly to all of them.
The recall appears to include all models of Wrangler, and drivers who routinely off-road or have high mileage should be particularly concerned. Front fender liners could, under certain conditions, contact the right front and left rear brake lines. This contact could cause wear on the brake lines and eventually result in a brake fluid leak, causing a loss of braking ability. Jeep dealers will begin repairing Wranglers in June, but customers with questions or concerns can reach Chrysler’s customer service line at (800) 992-1997.
